Explosion Near Septic Tank in Saharsa’s Biharha Area, Fire Breaks Out; Police Begin Investigation

Saharsa (Bihar):
Panic spread in Aran Ward No. 13 under Biharha police station area after a loud explosion occurred near a house around 3 AM on Tuesday night. The blast took place near a bathroom septic tank where a small storage room had been built, causing a fire and damaging the asbestos roof of the house.

According to police officials, the house belongs to Gajendra Prasad Yadav, a resident of Aran. After receiving information about the incident, Biharha Police reached the spot and inspected the area. Police officer Alok Kumar said that preliminary investigation suggests that a fire may have started first, followed by the explosion.

He said, “The police team, along with the police station in-charge and officials, inspected the incident site. A storage room built over the septic tank behind the house was the place where the explosion occurred. A fire had reportedly taken place before the blast. Investigation is underway from all possible angles.”

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also reached the spot and collected evidence. Police said that no remains of explosive material have been recovered from the site so far, but further investigation is continuing.

Local resident Birendra Prasad Yadav said that he heard a very loud sound around 3:30 AM, similar to a thunder-like blast. He said people immediately came out of their houses after hearing the sound and found the house on fire. Residents joined together to control the flames.

Birendra also raised concerns over a possible connection with an ongoing land dispute. He claimed that there has been a dispute over around one-and-a-half dhur land with Vinod Yadav. According to him, a fight had also taken place earlier over the same issue, in which family members were injured and admitted to the hospital.

Police officials said that the exact reason behind the explosion will be clear only after a detailed investigation and forensic examination. The matter is currently under investigation.
