Saharsa Police Crack Robbery Case, Five Accused Arrested; Stolen Motorcycle Recovered


Saharsa: Baijnathpur Police have achieved a major success by solving a robbery case and arresting five accused persons involved in the crime. Police have recovered the stolen motorcycle, mobile phone, and other items used during the incident.

According to police, the incident took place on June 13, 2026, when Chandrashekhar Kumar, a resident of Ararghat in Madhepura district, was travelling to Saharsa to visit his in-laws. Near Sabela on NH-107, four unidentified motorcycle-borne criminals intercepted him and pushed his motorcycle, causing him to fall.

The accused allegedly assaulted him, threatened him with weapons, and escaped after looting his motorcycle, mobile phone, and Rs 6,000 in cash.

Following the complaint, Baijnathpur Police registered FIR No. 106/2026 on June 14, 2026, and started an investigation.

Considering the seriousness of the case, a special police team was formed under the direction of Saharsa Superintendent of Police and the leadership of Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer. The team used technical investigation, human intelligence inputs, and CCTV footage analysis to identify the suspects.

Police first arrested Domy Yadav and Babul Kumar. Based on their information, three more accused — Anand Sah, Rajiv Kumar, and Chhatish Kumar alias Ashish Sah — were also arrested.

Police recovered one stolen motorcycle, one stolen mobile phone, one motorcycle used in the crime, and four mobile phones used during the incident.

The arrested accused have been identified as Domy Yadav, Babul Kumar, Anand Sah, Chhatish Kumar alias Ashish Sah, and Rajiv Kumar, all residents of Saharsa district.

Police said that some of the arrested accused have previous criminal records, including cases related to robbery, arms offences, and other serious crimes.

The successful operation was carried out by Baijnathpur SHO Akhilesh Kumar, police officers Khushbu Kumari and Niraj Kumar, PTC Suresh Kumar, PTC Ashutosh Kumar, STF team, and armed forces of Baijnathpur Police Station.

Saharsa Police stated that strict action against criminals will continue across the district.
