Saharsa: The historic Matsyagandha Lake in Saharsa is slowly transforming into a modern tourist destination as redevelopment and beautification work continues at a rapid pace. The project, estimated at around ₹98 crore, aims to give the lake a completely new identity in the tourism sector.
As the work progresses, the appearance of the lake area is changing with the development of modern facilities and infrastructure. The project includes the construction of a modern ghat, food court, glass bridge, museum, multicolor fountain, walkways, parking facilities and other tourist amenities.
The 400-meter-long ghat area is being developed with improved seating arrangements, lighting, safety and cleanliness facilities. The upcoming glass bridge is expected to become one of the major attractions, offering visitors a unique view of the lake.
A museum based on Matsyagandha’s historical and cultural importance is also being developed, featuring digital displays, art galleries and preserved historical information.
The redevelopment project is expected to boost tourism in Saharsa and create new employment opportunities through tourism-related activities. With every phase of construction, Matsyagandha Lake is moving closer to becoming a major tourist attraction in Bihar.
