सहरसा जिले के सलखुआ थाना क्षेत्र अंतर्गत डीह टोला वार्ड नंबर 10 में सोमवार की शाम एक दिल दहला देने वाली घटना घटित हुई। लोक जनशक्ति पार्टी (रामविलास) के प्रखंड अध्यक्ष अरुण यादव के 24 वर्षीय पुत्र राकेश कुमार को लाठी-डंडों से पीट-पीटकर मार डाला गया। यह हमला पिता अरुण यादव से चली आ रही वर्षों पुरानी रंजिश के बदले के रूप में किया गया। राकेश को अकेला पाकर हमलावरों ने उस पर बर्बरता से वार किया। बचाव के लिए दौड़ी राकेश की मां रंभा देवी को भी नहीं बख्शा गया और उन्हें गंभीर रूप से घायल कर दिया गया।

राकेश कुमार हैदराबाद की एक निजी कंपनी में सिक्योरिटी गार्ड के रूप में कार्यरत था और एक महीने पहले ही गांव लौटा था। इसी वर्ष उसकी शादी होने वाली थी। वह तीन भाइयों में सबसे छोटा था और अपने पिता के साथ रहकर पारिवारिक कार्यों में सहयोग कर रहा था।

अरुण यादव ने बताया कि पड़ोस में रहने वाले कपूरचंद यादव से खेत को लेकर वर्षों से विवाद चल रहा था। दोनों पक्षों ने इस विवाद को लेकर पहले भी थाना में लिखित शिकायत दी थी। हाल ही में उन्हें घर निर्माण के दौरान सवा चार धुर पैतृक जमीन को लेकर एक बार फिर विवाद झेलना पड़ा। जब उन्होंने अपने मकान का निर्माण शुरू किया, तो कपूरचंद यादव ने छज्जा को लेकर आपत्ति जताई। मामले को पंचायत के जरिए सुलझा भी लिया गया, फिर भी काम में बार-बार बाधा उत्पन्न की जाती रही।

सोमवार की शाम जब अरुण यादव गांव में मौजूद नहीं थे, उसी समय हमलावरों ने मौके का फायदा उठाते हुए राकेश पर जानलेवा हमला कर दिया। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार, हमलावरों ने लाठी-डंडों से उस पर तब तक हमला किया जब तक उसकी सांसें नहीं थम गईं। उसकी मां रंभा देवी जब उसे बचाने पहुंचीं, तो हमलावरों ने उन्हें भी पीट-पीटकर घायल कर दिया।

घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही सिमरी बख्तियारपुर के अनुमंडल पुलिस पदाधिकारी मुकेश कुमार ठाकुर मौके पर पहुंचे और दो आरोपियों को हिरासत में लिया गया। वहीं, सहरसा सदर अनुमंडल पुलिस पदाधिकारी आलोक कुमार ने सदर अस्पताल पहुंचकर मामले की जानकारी ली और पुष्टि की कि यह घटना आपसी रंजिश का परिणाम है। उन्होंने बताया कि दो लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है और अन्य की तलाश की जा रही है। पुलिस मामले की गहनता से जांच कर रही है और गांव में एहतियातन सुरक्षा व्यवस्था बढ़ा दी गई है।

A deeply disturbing incident was reported from Deeh Tola, Ward No. 10 under Salkhua police station in Saharsa district on Monday evening. Rakesh Kumar, 24, son of Arun Yadav — the Block President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) — was brutally beaten to death with sticks and rods. The attackers were reportedly neighbors who carried out the assault as an act of revenge for an old rivalry involving his father. Rakesh was targeted when he was alone. His mother, Rambha Devi, who tried to intervene, was also severely injured in the assault.

Rakesh had recently returned to his village after working as a security guard for a private company in Hyderabad. He was scheduled to get married later this year and was the youngest of three brothers. He had been helping his father in managing family responsibilities.

According to Arun Yadav, there had been a long-standing dispute with their neighbor Kapoorchand Yadav over agricultural land. Both families had previously filed complaints at the local police station. Arun said he had received 4.25 dhur (local land unit) of ancestral land on which he was constructing a house. The conflict escalated when Kapoorchand objected to the placement of bricks on the house’s overhang (chhajja). Though a panchayat (village council) was called and the matter was settled temporarily, the construction was repeatedly disrupted.

Taking advantage of Arun Yadav’s absence from the village on Monday, the accused allegedly ambushed Rakesh. They began beating him with sticks until he stopped breathing. When his 60-year-old mother tried to save him, she too was viciously attacked and left seriously injured.

Upon receiving the information, Mukesh Kumar Thakur, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Simri Bakhtiyarpur, reached the spot and detained two of the accused. Later, Alok Kumar, SDPO of Saharsa Sadar, visited the district hospital to review the situation. He confirmed that the incident stemmed from a long-standing land dispute and stated that two people had been arrested. The police are continuing their investigation and have increased security in the village to prevent further tension.
