Application Submitted Seeking Improved Darshan Arrangement at Ugratara Shaktipeeth in Mahishi

Saharsa, Bihar: An application has been submitted to the District Magistrate, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Shri Ugratara Nyas Committee, requesting improvements to the darshan (viewing) arrangement at the renowned Shri Ugratara Shaktipeeth Temple in Mahishi.

The applicants stated that a tall steel barricade has been installed around the sacred idol of Maa Ugratara, making it difficult for devotees to have a clear view of the deity and perform rituals comfortably. They have requested that the existing steel barricade be replaced with a smaller and aesthetically designed brass barricade, allowing devotees to have unobstructed darshan while also protecting the idol from unnecessary physical contact.

According to the application, the proposed change would enhance the spiritual experience of devotees, preserve the sanctity of the temple, and improve the overall appearance and dignity of the historic Shaktipeeth.

The memorandum was submitted in the presence of Anshu Jha, a prospective Zila Parishad candidate, social worker Raushan Madhav, Tinku Maithil, and several other residents of Mahishi. They urged the district administration to consider the sentiments of devotees and take prompt action on the request.

The Shri Ugratara Shaktipeeth in Mahishi is one of Bihar's most revered religious sites, attracting thousands of devotees throughout the year. The applicants expressed hope that the administration would take a positive decision to make darshan more convenient while ensuring the safety and sanctity of the deity.
